In this post, I’m breaking down three common ways travel nurses and allied healthcare professionals handle health insurance on the road: agency-provided plans, private insurance groups, and health-sharing programs. Coverage typically starts on the first day of the month after your first worked day and ends the last day of the month your contract ends—unless you already have another assignment lined up and the gap between jobs is short (the exact timeframe varies by agency).
